About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

Examines major issues concerning contemporary policing practices, including: the policing of diversity, dissent, illicit drugs and domestic violence; and the militarisation of policing. Crime management strategies and forensic practices will also be examined. Case material will be drawn from Australian, British and American practices.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Online Participation to MyLO Discussions (15%) - approx. 750-1000 words; Short Answers questions (15%); Major Essay (30%) - 2,500 words; Final exam (40%)

Dist. Ed: web-based delivery of 13 lectures, 1 online tutorial discussion fortnightly
