DESCRIPTION Examines social problems concerning such matters as assaults, endangerment of life, infliction of serious injury and family violence. The management of these risks to personal safety caused by others and responding to interpersonal violence are analysed. Policies and legislation dealing with such violence are examined and specific powers, strategies and procedures areoutlined and assessed. Attention will also be paid to the social characteristics of victims and how these are related to the perpetrators of violence.

Students must achieve 60% or more in all assessment components in order to gain an Ungraded Pass in this unit.
