DESCRIPTION

This unit provides students with the skills required to become a policy professional. It provides an overview of the theoretical literature on policy development, implementation and evaluation before introducing the skills and strategies central to policy practice. The unit features contributions from senior policy professionals reflecting on the issues and challenges they confront in their work as policy makers.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT: Tutorial mark (20%), 3500 word essay (40%), 2hr end-of-sem exam (40%)

TEACHING PATTERN: Int: 2-hr lecture weekly, 1 tutorial fortnightly Dist. Ed: web-based delivery of 13 lectures, 1 online tutorial discussion fortnightly
