DESCRIPTION

Has life a meaning? What is that meaning? What is the relevance of the fact that each of us will die? This unit is an examination of the meaning of these questions and of attempts -- both religious and philosophical -- to answer them.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT: 3,000-word essay (60%), 2-hr exam (40%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 2 hrs lectures weekly, 1-hr tutorial fortnightly (13 wks)
