This unit focuses on the writings of journalists whose work significantly impacted on the times in which they were reporting. Students examine the reportage of political journalists, war correspondents, social commentators and the novelist as journalist. There is an emphasis on the reportage of military conflict from the Napoleonic campaign to present day conflict, and on the reportage of political and social issues including poverty, racism, the environment, the civil rights movement and the women's movement
