DESCRIPTION
This unit considers the challenges facing Australia's Aboriginal peoples as they strive for economic viability. It analyses past approaches, current trends and the theories underpinning community development. International experience in community development and how it informs and influences Australian policy will be covered. The unit examines the strengths and weaknesses of Community Development frameworks in the context of the diverse circumstances experienced by Indigenous peoples.
