DESCRIPTION

The emphasis for this unit is on research, conceptual development, and an exploration of different aspects of visual communication using animation and campaign strategies. Study of this unit will involve responding to two project briefs, which focus on the use of animation and narrative title sequences for television and social campaign design. During the unit you will be introduced to subject areas including; research strategies; story boarding; narrative development; identity and branding; grid structures and page layout; and the representation of a range of social issues through visual communication. You will also be introduced to basic animation technology using Adobe Photoshop and Flash as well as industry standard design technology such as Adobe Indesign.

Throughout this unit you will continue to develop a social awareness and understanding of the designer's role and responsibility within the community and the broader environment. You will also be encouraged to think independently and develop an ability to clearly express your ideas to the lecturer and to the class during group presentations.
