The emphasis of this unit is on conceptual development and experimentation with type and image. This unit encourages you to explore visual communication through a range of media, processes and applications. Study of this unit will involve responding to two project briefs, which focus on expressive typography and branding. The unit requires you to work both independently and as part of a group. You will be introduced to subject areas including: typography, research strategies, experimental image making, social awareness, as well as an overview of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Throughout this unit you will continue to develop a social awareness and understanding of the designer's role and responsibility within the community and the broader environment.
