SPECIAL NOTE: 

This unit is available only as part of UTAS College program unit and it is not open to students unless they are participating in UTAS College program.

Students must obtain a pass in the ensemble requirement to pass this unit Students are expected to attend master classes of visiting artists specific to their field of study (ie classical or contemporary).

Continues the course of vocal, instrumental or compositional study undertaken in FCP110 Foundation Practical Study.

WEIGHT: 25%

ASSESSMENT:

Instrumental/vocal: End of semester assessment: 50%, 20 minutes. The material presented will reflect the work undertaken in the one-to-one lesson, eg. Technical work, studies, recital repertoire, student journal et al

Weekly activities: 50%, assessment of the student's weekly preparation and participation in all unit activities, classes and rehearsals eg. concert/repertoire diary, ensemble commitment, excerpts jury et al

Composition: folio of semester work 80%, Participation and Composition Diary 10%, Performance of works 10%

TEACHING PATTERN: 1-2 x 90 min performance classes or group tutorials; 1 x 60 min specialist lesson (either group or 1-to-1 instruction); 1 x3 hr ensemble rehearsal weekly
