This unit is the first of three units designed to develop musicianship skills for tertiary music students. The unit introduces foundational level keyboard techniques (non-piano majors), accompaniment (piano majors) and musicianship skills: sight-singing/reading in treble and bass clefs, melodic, rhythmic and harmonic dictations, error detection and rhythmic sight-reading
ASSESSMENT: assignments and exercises as determined by the lecturers: aural component (65%), keyboard component (35%)
TEACHING PATTERN: 1 x 2hr aural choir classes, 1 x 1hr keyboard tutorial
Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified).
