Introduces the essential concepts of audio design as they relate to live and recorded music. Students develop an understanding of signal path, microphone selection and placement, attenuation and gain structure, leads and basic wiring, integrated and component PA systems, crossovers and equalisation, processing and live mixing. Students are also introduced to basic recording principles, analogue and digital techniques, signal routing and processing, CD writing and manufacture.
