DESCRIPTION

This unit continues the work of the earlier Ensemble Skills units. In the third year students consolidate the processes already introduced through the research, practice, preparation and performance of new repertoire in each unit undertaken at this level. Students are required to keep a rehearsal chart 'book'/journal that details the strategies chosen throughout the semester in rehearsal to improve performance. To contextualize the music being performed you will need to research the chosen repertoire and you are expected to be able to discuss and explain to your peers, each work's historical aspect and compositional intent.
