This unit emphasises higher-level skills in interpretation and the ability to demonstrate understanding of professional music performance practices. At this level the requisite skills in establishing critical internal balance is the priority learning outcome in the rehearsal process as evidenced by performances of greater nuance and flexibility.
WEIGHT: 25%
ASSESSMENT: Conductor/Tutor's assessment: 30%
On-going rehearsal effectiveness assessment (observational review): 20%
Performances: 2 public concerts of prepared repertoire: 50%
TEACHING PATTERN: Semester 1 and 2: Weekly 2 x 3 hour rehearsals/coaching sessions (12 weeks) or
Semester 3, 4 and 5: 2 x 3-day weekends of sectionals and rehearsals totaling an average 40-60 hrs

Units are offered in attending mode unless otherwise indicated (that is attendance is required at the campus identified). A unit identified as offered by distance, that is there is no requirement for attendance, is identified with a nominal enrolment campus.
