DESCRIPTION
Orchestration introduces the study of instruments of the standard symphony orchestra. The unit will develop competence at writing for instrumental combinations, develop effective and creative strategies to support the musical goals of specific orchestration and/or arranging projects, and refine instrumentation techniques for use in original compositions.

ASSESSMENT:
In-class instrumentation assignments 40%, Mid-semester test 20%, Final orchestration project 40%
