SPECIAL NOTE: Enrolment is dependent upon the establishment of balanced threshold cohort of no less than 35 students.
Students are expected to have prepared their parts thoroughly prior to the first scheduled rehearsal.

DESCRIPTION

Students enrolling in this unit will attend an intensive practical performance program and participate in a variety of activities designed to provide intensive pre-professional training in ensemble practices. During the rehearsal period students will be expected to adapt quickly to the demands of new ensemble situations, personnel and new music.
Students enrolling in this unit will attend an intensive practical performance program and participate in a variety of activities designed to provide intensive pre-professional training in ensemble practices. Each week students will be expected to respond to the demands of new ensemble situations, personnel and new music.

WEIGHT: 25%

ASSESSMENT: Conductor/Tutor's assessment: 30%
On-going rehearsal effectiveness assessment (observational review): 20%
Performances: 2 public concerts of prepared repertoire: 50%
Performance and preparation: 30%

Contribution to ensemble: 30%

Co-operation and professionalism: 40%

TEACHING PATTERN: Semester 1 and 2: Weekly 2 x 3 hour rehearsals/coaching sessions (12 weeks) or
Semester 3, 4 or 5: 2 x 3-day weekends of sectionals and rehearsals totaling an average 40-60 hrs
