This unit is designed to give prospective Honours students an appreciation of the significance of research and provide students with research skills, knowledge and understandings that will enable them to undertake an honours research project. The unit will encourage critical understanding of qualitative and quantitative traditions and approaches in research and explore the research process from design to reporting. Students will be challenged to apply concepts and critically engage with issues as they relate to personal research interests and plans.

ASSESSMENT:
Development of Research Questions (40%), Research Proposal (60%)
TEACHING PATTERN:
1 x 1 hr lecture (weeks 1-13), 1 x 2 hr tutorial (weeks 2-13); Flexible delivery mode with online readings and learning activities
