DESCRIPTION

Throughout this unit you will be exposed to a range of literature written specifically for children, ranging in age from pre-school to early adolescence. The purpose of this unit is to encourage the exploration, analysis, and interpretation of a variety of texts that have been created for children, through discussion, reading groups and collaborative sharing. In this unit you will have the opportunity to read, discuss, share and explore children's literature including poetry. You will develop skills in identifying quality children's literature and in determining how best to use children's literature in a classroom context.

WEIGHT: 12.5%

ASSESSMENT:

Weekly Blog (50%); Prezi Presentation (50%)

TEACHING PATTERN:

Online: Fully online with weekly readings and activities.

OnCampus: Online Lecture in weeks 1-6, 8, 10, 12 and 13and 2 hour face to face tutorial weekly
