Online access to some parts of this unit online is optional.
This unit is delivered face-to-face
or by other teaching arrangements, but uses the Web to present
supplementary learning resources (such as lecture notes, unit
information), and/or other online tools for your discretionary use. You
do not need to access the Web for your study in this unit.
Web dependent
Some parts of this unit will be taught online.
This unit uses the Web to either
present essential course materials, provide for communication with
teaching staff and fellow students, and/or complete aspects of your
formal assessment. You are therefore expected to access the Web as part
of the teaching and learning program for this unit.
Fully online
This unit is taught entirely online.
Teaching of this unit is entirely
through the web (e.g. through MyLO)– there are no formal, compulsory
face-to-face classes or other forms of teaching. (However, you may have
to attend a University-authorised centre for examination purposes.)
Resource-supported teaching & learning
Additional resources are provided for your optional use; e.g. audio taped lectures.
This unit makes available for
independent study resources to supplement the teaching program – e.g.
audiotapes, videotapes of lectures held.
Resource-dependent teaching & learning
Independent study with provided resources replaces at least some face-to-face or other classes (e.g. lectures).
This unit involves necessary,
independent study on your part, using resources provided (such as print
guides, audiotapes, videotapes, CD ROM etc.).
Video conferencing
A live video link between campuses is used for at least some teaching in this unit.
At least part of this unit is taught by video conference– i.e. taught by video link from a remote site/campus.
Flexible scheduling
Some classes will be held outside normal teaching hours; e.g. weekend blocks, summer schools etc.
At least some face-to-face classes
are held outside standard University operating times – i.e. out of
hours, as weekend blocks, summer/winter school(s), or outside standard
semester times.
