The Graduate Diploma in Fine Art and Design is intended either as an opportunity to develop an extended professional project, or as a possible pathway into the Master of Fine Art and Design.
Students undertake either full time (two semesters, 50% unit load in each semester) or part time (4 semesters, 25% load in each semester) study.
Students are permitted to undertake 4 x 12.5% weight electives from the attached schedule, as approved by the Course Coordinator.
The GDFAD course has as its main emphasis a professional practice application of project-based studio work, the content of which is structured by candidates in consultation with their supervisor, in the form of a negotiated study contract and approved by the School. Typically it would be configured as an overall project, with the final outcome a professional portfolio of work and a reflective statement.
