These course rules and specifications apply to students commencing the BMus(Hons) in semester 2, 2012. For students who commenced prior to semester 2, 2012, the applicable course rules are those from the year of commencement. i.e. students who commenced in 2005 should refer to the 2005 Handbook.
Performance students undertake a year of study (100%) comprised of an integrated research project, consisting of performances and a written exegesis.
Professional Practice students undertake a year of specialised study in music performance, including coursework and a recording project.
Composition students must present a folio of compositions and an exegesis.
Musicology students complete a programme of coursework and write a thesis of approximately 15,000 words.
All students are required to attend the music research methodology class in semester 1. All students must attend and give a presentation in the Honours and Postgraduate Research forum.
