Introduction
A 1-year (minimum) course. Part time enrolment is available. If the degree comprises a mix of units and research project, most units are taught in Hobart only (check unit offerings). However if the degree comprises 100% research component, this may be supervised at any of the three centres given staff availability.
Admission & Prerequisites
Admission is open to graduates holding a recognised degree in a science-based discipline. Where an undergraduate degree has been obtained recently, a minimum average result of 65% obtained in the final year of study would be required for entry to the Honours program. Otherwise postgraduation experience of three or more years will be considered as a basis for acceptance into this program.
Course Objectives
This course is intended to provide additional skills, knowledge and academic advancement to individuals who hold an undergraduate degree. The course provides access to the Master of Agricultural Science or PhD degree courses.
Career Outcomes
Graduates will have improved their career potential and broadened the scope of available professional pathways. Graduates of sufficient merit may gain access to higher degree courses.
Articulation to/from Course
Any recognised science-based bachelor degree may lead into the GradDipAgrSc(Hons) course.
Graduates of the GradDipAgrSc(Hons) may progress to Master or PhD courses.
