Introduction

This one-year full-time or two-year part-time course is offered internally at Hobart and Launceston.

Admission & Prerequisites

Candidates shall have qualified for admission to the degree of Bachelor of Natural Environment and Wilderness Studies at this University or equivalent qualification at another approved tertiary institution.

Course Objectives

The course aims to provide:

  1. Advanced training and consequent in-depth knowledge within a particular discipline covered by natural environment and wilderness studies;
  2. Training in research techniques relevant to that discipline to enable either postgraduate research entry or employment in research.

Career Outcomes

Honours graduates are highly competitive for professional careers in their area of specialisation. Employment opportunities also exist in more general areas as detailed under discipline entries in the Handbook.


Professional Recognition

Graduates of the BNatEnvWildSt(Hons) may be eligible for membership of a number of professional organisations. Specific details are provided under individual discipline entries in the Handbook.
