The Master of Journalism and Media Studies is offered on a full fee-paying basis on the Hobart campus. It is normally three semesters full-time or may be taken part-time over six semesters.
Admission & Prerequisites
Students with undergraduate degrees or equivalent will be accepted into this postgraduate program.
Course Objectives
Graduates from this program will gain a variety of vocational skills sought after by the media industry, including computer assisted reporting, non linear editing and digital camera work, advanced writing and narrative skills, understanding of legal, ethical and political implications of the journalist's profession, and a fundamental understanding of the media. They will be expected to use these skills to produce a major research media project. Students can choose to focus their studies on environmental journalism.
