Introduction

This course will develop advanced skills in regional development policy making for professionals working in areas associated with regional development policy, and graduates seeking to work in these areas. The course will provide students with a detailed understanding of policy development and contemporary practices as they pertain to regional development issues and the factors influencing those issues.
These course rules and specifications apply to students commencing the GradDipRegDevPol in 2006. For students who commenced prior to 2006, the applicable course rules are those from the year of commencement. i.e. students who commenced in 2005 should refer to the 2005 Handbook.
Admission & Prerequisites
The normal admission requirement is a university degree or other tertiary qualification, or equivalent combination of qualifications and work experience, deemed to be appropriate by the Faculty of Arts. Candidates not holding a bachelor's degree but whose employment experience indicates a level of knowledge and skill deemed by the Faculty to be sufficient to complete the course satisfactorily may be deemed eligible for admission.
Articulation to/from Course
Students who have satisfactorily completed the requirements for the Graduate Diploma in Regional Development Policy may proceed to the Master of Regional Development Policy.
