The Graduate Diploma in Social Work Practice degree course is offered by the School of Sociology and Social Work.
The course is available only on the Launceston campus of the University and can be completed in two years part-time study. The maximum period allowed for completion of the degree is four years, although in certain cases permission may be granted for completion of the course over an extended period of time.

Admission & Prerequisites
In order to be eligible for entry to the course candidates must have qualified at least for completion of the Bachelor of Social Work pass degree at the University of Tasmania or at a recognised tertiary education institution.
Course Objectives
The Graduate Certificate of Social Work Practice enables field practitioners in a variety of human service agencies to enhance their knowledge and practice at an advanced level. The course is intended to provide social work practitioners with an innovative model for reflective practice and to increase competence in a range of social work fields and methods. The importance of locating social work practice in the political and organizational context will be emphasised.
