Introduction

BioStart is a preparation program for people who are unsure about:

  • what to expect in the biological sciences
  • what skills are needed for success
  • what resources are available to help develop these skills
    The program is designed to meet a variety of needs of students entering the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Health Science and Bachelor of Human Movement courses, who do not have a TCE science background, and for alternative entry and mature age students returning to study.

Admission & Prerequisites

Enrolment is open to students who have accepted a place in the Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Human Movement or Bachelor of Health Science.

Course Objectives

The program aims to:

  • introduce students to the culture of the School of Human Life Sciences
  • introduce the types of learning tasks required within the School
  • introduce terminology used in biological sciences
  • assist students to develop a range of appropriate skills for University study.
