Introduction
G3K Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Science (combined degree) is in teach-out. Applicants wishing to enrol in this combined degree should now apply for 33J Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Science.
This four-year (minimum), 9-year (maximum) full-time, internal full-time or part-time course is offered at the Hobart and Launceston campuses and at the Cradle Coast Campus. The first-year only is available at the Cradle Coast Campus where a limited number of units will be available.
Admission & Prerequisites
Possession of the University's minimum entry requirements.
For Science students: Satisfactory Achievement result or better in MT843 Mathematics Stage 3 or MT841 Mathematics Stage 2 or MT730 Mathematics Applied. Students are encouraged to study some of the following subjects: IT862 Computer Science; CH856 Chemistry; GG833 Geography; EV846 Environmental Science; GL876 Geology; PH866 Physics; BY826 Biology; and SC786 Physical Sciences.
Students who have not completed the Mathematics prerequisite may satisfy the prerequisite by successfully completing Mathematics Bridging Unit (KMA003) - summer program offered by the School of Mathematics and Physics.

For Business students: While no prerequisites apply for the degree, students who have not successfully completed TCE MAP5C Mathematics Applied, or, an approved equivalent unit, or, a higher level Mathematics subject, are required to complete either
KMA003 Mathematics Foundation Unit,
UPP090 Bridging Maths, or,
BEA109 Introduction to Quantitative Methods, before enrolling in
BEA140 Quantitative Methods. International students who do not have TCE MAP5C Mathematics Applied, or an equivalent, or a higher level Mathematics subject and who are therefore required to undertake a mathematics bridging program may only take

Students who have completed a diploma or advanced diploma in a business related discipline at an Australian institute of TAFE may receive credit into the Business component. Depending on the course of study and the majors chosen, students may not be able to use all of the credit that has been granted, for example, credit for unspecified electives. The status of individual units is determined at the time of offer.
The Faculty of Businessalso offers direct credit for its awards. For example, a BBus student wishing to transfer to the BEc with credit and vice versa receives direct credit. Applicants wishing to obtain credit for study already undertaken within another faculty, or an Australian or overseas tertiary institution should consult the Admission Guide for information on procedure.
In the case of international students, credit for previous study will be determined on application.

English language skills will also need to be verified. International students must provide an IELTS score with an overall Band of 6 and no band less than 5.5; or a TOEFL score of 550 with a Test of Written English score of no less than 4.5. The BBus specifically prepares students to work in accounting, corporate governance, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing, information systems, international business, in human resource management and tourism.
Professional Recognition
For the BSc component, graduates are eligible for membership of a number of professional organisations, specific details are provided under individual discipline entries.

Honours degree in Business
The Bachelor of Business Honours degree requires one year of full-time study in addition to the requirements for the BBus pass degree or one of the combined degrees. Please contact the relevant Business school for further details.
