About Census Dates

DESCRIPTION

The unit provides practical introduction supported by basic theoretical background for expressing and analysing safety, responsiveness, correctness and other performance goals through a Concurrent Sequential Processes (CSP) based modelling system. Software development for concurrent systems is introduced through java threads and related concurrent programming practices and patterns. Introduction to distributed computing: RMI, Servlets, J2EE and EJB.

WEIGHT:  12.5%

ASSESSMENT: Internal project with continuous assessment throughout the semester (30%) , End of semester examination (70%)

TEACHING PATTERN: 3 lectures each week and weekly Tutorials.
Some of the lectures will be delivered in Computer laboratories and may require timetable adjustments to accommodate students. Attendance to these sessions is mandatory.
